Senior Director/Vice President, Corporate Sales

About the position: 

The Senior Director/VP, Corporate Sales will play an instrumental role in the organization by leading the Corporate Sales team, focusing on a framework to expand our corporate coverage framework.

 

As the VP of Corporate Sales, you will:

  • Manage and lead a team of up to four (4) business development professionals by outlining overall team goals, internal sales targets, and individual professional development.
  • Own the annual P&L for executing on deals to secure revenue contracts against internal team KPIs in line with MN8’s forecasted growth plans.
  • Responsible for maintaining CRM internal reporting for senior executives and other key stakeholders.
  • Lead MN8’s efforts in outreach to large enterprise customers to understand their holistic renewable energy and sustainability needs
  • Utilize a wide range of sources such as public statements, seminars, conferences, trade materials, and networking to understand and document key corporate renewable energy purchasing trends
  • Effectively summarize these needs and proactively disseminate this information to key stakeholders within the organization
  • Coordinate with internal teams to develop compelling products and solutions that address key industry needs
  • Lead development of sales materials and pitch documents. Lead/Support the RFP responses, proposal creation, structuring, negotiation and execution of solicitations and financeable transactions with target customers.
  • Originate, lead, and execute on corporate offtake contracts for renewable energy and/or storage for offsite solar and battery assets corresponding to open merchant positions in MN8’s portfolio of assets

 

Our ideal candidate will have:

  • Bachelor’s degree (U.S. or equivalent) required
  • 10+ years of prior work experience with at least 5 years of renewable energy sales, energy procurement, or originating power purchase agreements, with specific focus on enterprise customers
  • Understanding of PPAs, ISDAs, EEI, BTA, Capacity, Resource Adequacy, Tolling, etc. contract forms with a focus on PV and BESS (Wind, Hydrogen, RNG, SMR, is a plus)
  • Familiarity and knowledge of various product structures and concepts including, but not limited to: 24/7 CFE product offerings, behind-the-meter solutions, flexible load, REC/Carbon Offset solutions, and scope emissions
  • Understanding of competitive and regulated wholesale electricity markets, with proven experience in some of the following REs and ISOs/RTOs: PJM, MISO, SPP, CAISO, ERCOT, NYISO, ISO-NE, WECC (PNW), SERC QF
  • Rolodex of C&I and utility customers & contacts to support the business sales efforts
  • Great organizational skills and attention to detail; able to juggle and prioritize multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to effectively communicate technical information and strategic goals
  • Proactive and forward-thinking attitude and creative problem-solving ability
  • A motivated self-starter who can work independently in a fast paced, entrepreneurial environment
  • Demonstratable experience in effectively summarizing and disseminating key market information to effectively educate internal stakeholders and drive strategic decisions
  • Energy trading, energy modeling, or project finance modeling experience is a plus, but not required

In New York City, the base salary for this position at the time of this posting ranges from $200,000 – $250,000. Within that range, individual compensation varies based on job-related factors including but not limited to experience and training, licensure and certifications and other business and organizational needs.
