Senior Manager, Project Development – Mid Atlantic US

ABOUT THE POSITION:

MN8 Energy LLC is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Senior Manager, Project Development join our dynamic team. As a Senior Manager, Project Development , you will play a lead role in the successful execution of renewable energy projects from initial concept through to completion. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders to drive project development activities and contribute to the company’s growth and success.

 

As the Senior Manager, Project Development – Mid Atlantic US, you will:

  • Lead and support the identification, evaluation, and development of renewable energy project opportunities, including solar, wind and storage projects.
  • Create and support development strategies and lead in their execution
  • Feasibility Studies: Conduct preliminary feasibility assessments, including site evaluation, resource analysis, and regulatory analysis, to determine project viability and potential risks.
  • Secure site control, including negotiating leases and easements with land owners for all necessary project real estate rights to construct and operate renewable projects
  • Project Permitting: Support the permitting process by coordinating with regulatory authorities, preparing permit applications, and ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations to attain all necessary approvals
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Establish and maintain positive relationships with landowners, local communities, government agencies, and other stakeholders to facilitate project development and address any concerns.
  • Identification and mitigation of project risks and assist in the implementation of risk management strategies.
  • Coordinate with external consultants, contractors, and vendors to ensure project milestones are met.
  • Project Financial Analysis: Assist in financial modeling, cost estimation, and analysis of project economics to assess profitability and support investment decisions.
  • Project Documentation: Prepare and maintain project documentation, including contracts, agreements, and technical reports, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  • Project Management Support: Collaborate with project developers to ensure smooth project execution by coordinating tasks, monitoring progress, and resolving any issues that may arise.
  • Market Research: Stay informed about industry trends, policies, and incentives related to renewable energy to identify opportunities and assess market dynamics.
  • Quality Assurance: Ensure adherence to company standards, best practices, and industry regulations throughout the project development lifecycle.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including engineering, finance, legal, and operations, to ensure effective communication and coordination.

 

Our ideal candidate will have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as engineering, environmental sciences, business administration, or a related discipline.
  • 5 + years’ experience in renewable energy project development, preferably in the solar sector. Experience with utility-scale projects is highly desirable.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to evaluate complex data and make informed decisions.
  • Familiarity with renewable energy technologies, market dynamics, and regulatory frameworks.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with internal teams, external stakeholders, and regulatory authorities.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and meet deadlines.
  • Proficiency in project management software, Microsoft Office Suite, and financial modeling tools.
  • A proactive mindset with a passion for sustainability and the renewable energy industry.
  • Proficiency in project management tools and software.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize workload effectively.
  • Detail-oriented with a strong focus on accuracy and quality.
  • Self-motivated and proactive, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Flexibility to travel as required for project site visits and meetings.
