SUMMARY:

MN8 Energy is one of the largest independent solar energy and energy storage owner-operators in the U.S., serving enterprise customers with clean energy and complementary solutions, such as battery storage and EV Charging, to enable an electrified, decarbonized world. ABOUT THE POSITION:

We are looking for a junior Software Developer with good working knowledge of backend as well as frontend development, to support development of proprietary analysis tools for a growing fleet of PV solar, Battery Storage, EV Charging Stations and Wind assets.

Skills Set:

• Frontend: Angular, TypeScript, Cypress – I would replace Typescript and add: HTML, CSS and javascript
• Backend: Spring, Spring Boot, Java, Python, and Microservices
• DevOps: Jenkins, Kubernetes, AWS Cloud, Azure ML, Dynatrace, Grafana, ELK-Stack – I would remove Azure ML/ELK stack/Grafana
• Tools: IntelliJ, Git, Jira, Confluence
• More: Pair Programming, E2E-Responsibility
• Cloud: Azure / AWS / GCP

Main responsibilities (working in a cross-functional team):

• Responsible for the specification, implementation, testing, deployment, and operation of the software solution.
• Develop various frontend and backend applications and micro-services.
• Work internationally with other developers, architects, and business on technical and professional issues.
• Document changes of the software solution and manage version control on cloud repository.
• Manage the software applications, improve its stability and fix bugs when they occur.
• Support creation of data infrastructure, data management and access (API, SFTP…etc)
• Technology Evaluation and Integration: Research, evaluate, and integrate new technologies, frameworks, libraries, and tools
• Comprehensive Application Development: Code scalable, flexible, and user-friendly
  applications, covering all technologies from frontend to backend.
• High-Performance Services and APIs: Develop secure and high-performance services and APIs, optimizing efficiency and ensuring quick response times.
• Support creation of Business Logic, automation scripts and Database Design:
• Develop .NET-based business logic components, ensuring efficient access to data and creation of connectors for piping data for programmatic use
• Participate in database design to ensure efficient and scalable data structures
•  Code Maintenance and Quality: Maintain and ensure code quality by applying best development practices and coding standards.
•  Innovation and Productivity Enhancement: Innovate and develop solutions that increase client productivity and enhance the capabilities of existing software applications.
•  Technical Support and Relationship Building: Provide effective technical support to sales and delivery teams, and build strong, constructive relationships with clients.

Requirements:

• BS in Computer Engineering, Telecommunications Engineering, Industrial Electronic Engineering or similar
• Proficiency in programming, especially in C++ and Python languages
• Knowledge of API creation and protocols (REST, GraphQL, SOAP, gRPC)
• Experience in telecommunications, especially in protocols such as Modbus, OPC, TCP/IP.
• Knowledge of administration, configuration and implementation of communication networks
• Front-end development skills: JavaScript, HTML5, CSS3 and associated modern libraries (JQuery, Bootstrap)
• Basic principles of electronics and industrial electricity
• Fluency in handling distributions of the Debian GNU/Linux family
• Proficiency reading and writing in English

Qualifications

• 2 years of software development experience (educational experience considered in place of employment history)
• knowledge of C#.Net, SQL Server, MS Access, AWS, MS Machine Learning, GitHub and Webpage development software is helpful
