About the Internship:

MN8 Energy is seeking an energetic and talented Summer Lease Accounting Intern to join our Centralized Accounting team. This internship will focus primarily on assisting with the ongoing compliance of ASC 842 (Lease Accounting Standard). The ideal candidate will gain hands-on experience working with lease accounting processes, systems, and reporting requirements under ASC 842, while supporting the accounting team in day-to-day activities.

As the Lease Accounting Intern, you will:

· Read lease agreements and amendments and apply accounting principals to relevant contract clauses

· Assist in reviewing and classifying leases in compliance with ASC 842 guidelines

· Support the maintenance of lease data, including inputs into the lessee module

· Track and process lease modifications, renewals, and terminations

· Collaborate with cross-functional teams to obtain necessary approvals and documentation

· Assist in month-end closing activities, including reconciliation and reporting

· Participate in brainstorming sessions and contribute creative ideas for improving existing processes or developing new solutions

· Engage with the accounting, finance, operations teams to enhance understanding of the accounting profession and energy industry

· Attend team meetings and contribute actively to discussions

Qualifications:

· Current enrollment in a relevant undergraduate or graduate program (e.g., Accounting, Finance, Business)

· Basic understanding of accounting principles; interest in learning about ASC 842

· Proficient in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, xlookup, data analysis)

· Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

· Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and collaborate with team members

· Prior accounting or finance internship experience is a plus
