Position overview:

We’re seeking a Service Manager to be responsible for overseeing and managing the delivery of IT services, ensuring that they meet the needs of our organization and our clients. This role requires a seasoned professional with over seven years of experience, a strong background in Azure, and a proven track record in managing external service providers. Experience in multicloud environments, project management, DevOps practices, and relevant certifications such as ITIL and Azure are highly desirable.

 

As the IT Service Manager, you will take care of:

  • Service Delivery Management: Oversee the delivery of IT services and ensure they meet established service level agreements (SLAs) and key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Provider Management: Manage relationships with external service providers to ensure high-quality service delivery and adherence to contractual obligations.
  • Incident and Problem Management: Lead the response to major incidents, ensuring timely resolution and root cause analysis to prevent recurrence.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for service improvement and implement best practices to enhance service delivery.
  • Stakeholder Communication: Act as the primary point of contact for stakeholders regarding service delivery, performance, and improvement initiatives.
  • Compliance and Standards: Ensure that IT services comply with industry standards and regulations.
  • Budget Management: Manage the budget for IT services, ensuring cost-effective delivery.
  • Project Management: Plan, execute, and oversee various IT projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within scope, and within budget.
  • Monitoring and Backups: Define and manage implementation of monitoring solutions and backup strategies for Azure and multicloud environments to ensure data integrity and availability.
  • DevOps Practices: Foster a culture of collaboration between development and operations teams, implementing and managing CI/CD pipelines, and automating processes to improve efficiency and reduce deployment times.

 

Our ideal candidate will have: 

  • Experience: Over 7 years of experience in IT service management, with a significant portion of that in managing external service providers and IT projects.
  • Azure Expertise: Extensive experience with Microsoft Azure, including architecture knowledge, and management of Azure services. Proficiency in managing Azure infrastructure, including virtual networks, virtual machines, storage solutions, and Azure Active Directory. Strong understanding of Azure DevOps for CI/CD pipelines, and Azure security best practices and governance. Familiarity with Azure monitoring tools such as Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, and Application Insights.
  • Technical Skills: Strong understanding of IT infrastructure, software development, operations, monitoring, backup solutions, and DevOps practices.
  • Certifications: ITIL and Azure certifications are highly desirable.
  • Analytical Skills: Excellent problem-solving abilities and analytical thinking.
  • Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Leadership Skills: Proven ability to lead and inspire colleagues, manage conflicts, and drive performance.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field is preferred.
