Position overview:

As the Accounting Operations Sr. Director, you will be leading the accounting operations team and be responsible for controlling the projects. There will be a strong cooperation with the Asset Managers and the Corporate Controller. You monitor the project revenues, costs and scenario’s, responsible for related project reports and cashflow management, challenge the business regarding findings and manage the relating risks proactively. In addition, there are a handful of Spanish owned subs that have statutory filing and reporting requirements.

As the Accounting Operations Sr. Director, you will:

• Be responsible for project control of dedicated project(s), including risk management, revenue cash flow management, cost control and payments, variance analysis, reporting and general monitoring progress.
• Be responsible for the consolidation of all projects.
• Be responsible for team of 35 project accountants that manage all the portfolio activities.
• Act as a confidant for the business by providing solicited and unsolicited advice.
• Monitor and actively manage the total risk profile and claim overview of the projects.
• Understand divergences within the approved project budgets.
• Identify problems and propose solutions to improve the project financial results.
• Deliver regular reports and updates of the project financial status. All reports must be produced accurately, one time and including analysis and clear explanations.
• Have a proactive role in applying all compliance rules and regulations.
• Be involved in the continuous improvement program for project control process and risk.

Our ideal candidate will have: 

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or closely related field. Master’s Degree preferred.
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in project control with large complex projects.
• Previous experience in the renewable energy industry highly preferred.
• Extensive knowledge of ERP systems.
• Strong analysis and reporting skills.
• Accurate mindset.
• Team management skills, preference is experience managing a team of 20+ individuals.
• Passion for complex projects.
• Excellent professional communication skills in English and Spanish.
