Project Manager- Solar Construction

Position Overview: 

The role of the Project Manager is to plan, execute, and finalize projects according to strict deadlines and within budget. This includes acquiring resources and coordinating the efforts of team members and third-party contractors or consultants in order to deliver projects according to plan. The Project Manager will also define the project’s objectives and oversee quality control throughout its life cycle. The project manager is direct responsible of the safety of the project.

 

As the Project Manager, you will: 

  • Responsible for the P&L of the project
  • Responsible to drive project and profit plans to budget through successful leadership, organizational plans, customer engagement, and outstanding execution of all field operations strategies of the project consistently with company procedures and policies
  • Define project scope, goals and deliverables to meet the business goals
  • Administrate the different contracts. Fulfill the contract provisions
  • Track and report project milestones and deliverables
  • Develop full-scale project plans and associated communications documents
  • Effectively communicate project expectations to contractors in a timely and clear fashion
  • Delegate tasks and responsibilities to appropriate personnel
  • Identify and resolve issues and conflicts within the project
  • Recommend subsequent budget and schedule changes where necessary
  • Requesting and reviewing contractor’s progress reports, testing and witness records
  • Identify and manage project dependencies and critical path. Plan and schedule project timelines and milestones using appropriate tools
  • Develop and deliver progress reports, proposals, requirements documentation, and presentations
  • Proactively manage changes in project scope, identify potential crises, and devise contingency plans
  • Coach, mentor, motivate and supervise project team members and contractors, and influence them to take positive action and accountability for their assigned work
  • Work closely with utilities to establish the requirements and process to interconnect the projects
  • Liaise with contractors and local authorities to obtain licenses and permits for the project
  • Lead H&S of the projects and make sure all department personnel reach Corporate Safety Goals
  • Lead QA/QC of the projects and make sure all department personnel reach Corporate Safety Goals.

 

Additional duties: 

  • Identify potential contractors
  • Create / maintain tracking tools
  • Distributing appropriate construction data and back up
  • Create checklist and inspection reports templates
  • Write procedures and monitor compliance with them and applicable local, state and federal regulations
  • Attending various meetings with Business Development, Due Diligence, Technical Offices and other

 

Our Ideal Candidate will have: 

  • Bachelor’s degree or Technical degree in Engineering or any relevant field
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in Solar Construction. Electrical background (i.e. Substations/ Interconnection)
  • Proficient in oral and written communication
  • Self-motivated with excellent leadership and organizational skills
  • Teamwork oriented, trouble shooting and human resource skills
  • Extensive knowledge and experience managing projects and subcontractors
  • Computer skills
  • Knowledge of appropriate software
  • Interpretation of drawings
