Overview
As an operation manager, you will play an instrumental role in managing and optimizing investments in renewable energy assets. You can expect to be given significant and cross-function responsibility to manage such assets, and be exposed to high-profile transactions within a growing, entrepreneurial business. To be successful as an asset manager you should be strategically minded with strong analytical and problem-solving skills. This role will be based out of Madrid.
Responsibilities
- Lead the development, implementation, and maintenance of policies and procedures for operations and maintenance of the RPG portfolio
- Identify and establish relationships with key O&M service providers both regionally, nationally and internationally
- Oversee service provider compliance with O&M agreements including, but not limited, to field activities, reporting, inventory management, performance monitoring and other contractual service level agreements
- Support portfolio management team on technical issues negatively affecting the portfolio by driving resolution with O&M service providers
- Facilitate operational changes as necessary to improve profitability, coordinating effective O&M processes throughout the organization
- Manage, prioritize and drive resolution on complex technical issues and major repairs
- Support business development and on-boarding teams on O&M matters pertaining to acquisition transactions and on-boarding of assets into the portfolio
- Manage and drive negotiation of O&M agreements with key O&M providers, as well as the vetting and on-boarding of new providers
- Other duties as may be required
Requirements
- Minimum of five (5) years of experience in operations of solar PV assets, with focus on operations and maintenance
- Engineering, business, finance or otherwise relevant bachelors’ degree. MBA or equivalent advanced technical degree would be plus
- Strong understanding of operation and management of solar PV and BESS assets
- Sufficient technical expertise in solar photovoltaics to be able to successfully carry out key responsibilities of the position, experience with BESS systems would be plus
- Baseline understanding of business and financial matters
- Excellent interpersonal and written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to effectively engage external stakeholders in discussions and negotiations pertaining to asset operations and O&M engagements
- Excels in planning and organization of tasks and is able to execute on plans
- Highly driven, motivated and self-starter that excels in a team environment
- Strong disposition to follow corporate rules and guidelines
- Flexibility to perform other tasks that are not part of the position’s core responsibilities
- Strong skills with Microsoft Office tools and other relevant technology platforms
