Director, Corporate Finance

Overview

The Director of Corporate Finance reports to the VP Treasurer and will be responsible for treasury modeling (debt and tax equity), rating agency relationships, certain investment analysis and other financial affairs.

The Director of Corporate Finance will collaborate across the finance functions and will play a key part of the overall business as he/she will need to actively engage and collaborate with the Investment and Business Development teams and contribute subject matter expertise to ongoing business processes. She/he must be adept at tapping diverse sources of information, anticipating challenges and identifying appropriate solutions, and devising and executing approaches to deliver against current and future priorities.

Responsibilities

  • As part of the Treasury team of MN8, lead and manage all the debt and tax equity models for MN8 throughout project lifecycle – development/acquisition/construction/operations and refinancing
  • Working closely with the Treasurer, enhance MN8’s strategic and long-term financial planning
  • Manage relationships with rating agencies
  • Build TE/debt sizing models as well as maintain these models for various corporate debt, project debt and tax equity partnership financings
  • Work with the M&A, Investing, Asset Management, Tax and Accounting teams to understand transaction structures, contracts, underwriting assumptions, tax and accounting considerations and insure such are appropriately reflected in financial models Contribute to the origination, structuring and commercial negotiations of debt and tax equity financings as a proactive deal team member
  • Work with FP&A to support the tax equity tracking models, and other related models, including onboarding new tax equity financings
  • Interface with other support areas, including asset management, tax, financial reporting, regulatory controllers, fund accounting, and technical operations

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Tax, Accounting or related field preferred
  • At least [5] years of experience in renewable project finance/tax equity modelling required including requisite working knowledge of partnership tax considerations Strong fundamental understanding of Financial Statements and US GAAP, familiarity with Hypothetical Liquidation of Book Value preferred
  • Ability to interpret/understand term sheets/other legal documents associated with debt and partnerships structures
  • Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills with demonstrated ability to deal effectively at all levels within the organization
