Summary:

MN8 Energy is one of the largest independent solar energy and energy storage owner-operators in the U.S., serving enterprise customers with clean energy and complementary solutions, such as battery storage and EV Charging, to enable an electrified, decarbonized world. Position Overview: 

MN8 Energy LLC is seeking a highly motivated individual to help manage new and existing interconnection and transmission queue positions and facilitate the company’s expansion goals, turning over 1 GW annually of pipeline into financially investable projects. The individual will be expected create positive relationships with interconnecting utilities and coordinate construction of Interconnection Facilities.

As the Manager/Sr. Manager of Interconnection and Strategy you will:

• Direct internal and external technical professionals in producing 10% design materials for Interconnection Requests and curing deficiencies in the RTO specified timelines.
• Model financial commitments for projects and associated deliverables in internal databases.
• Responsible for communicating the interconnection process and timelines to completion for the regions their projects may reside.
• Review system impact studies and relevant cluster studies and provide feedback to management, so that investment decisions can be made for projects with economic viability.
• The Sr. Manager of Interconnection will be responsible for reviewing LGIAs and negotiating milestone dates with internal and external parties.
• The Sr. Manager of Interconnection will maintain requirements of the RTO/ISO to advance a project from LGIA execution to COD, including asset registration and technical data submission as required.

Our ideal candidate will have:

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or equivalent education.
• 5+ years’ experience in generation interconnection studies or transmission system planning.
• Excellent project management skills and effective communication on project timelines and financial deliverables.
• Ability to travel up to 15% to facilitate face to face time with corporate management and a robust presence at relevant conferences and stakeholder meetings.

Preferred qualifications:

• Experience with RTOs and Open Access Transmission Tariff.
• Experience with Pro Forma LGIAs and coordination of projects from GIA execution to COD.
• Experience providing Application Materials for Generator Interconnections in various RTO’s and independent transmission providers.
• Experience with PSSE, PSLF, ASPEN, CAPE, PSCAD, and Python Programming software.
• Experience with RTO governance and stakeholder collaborative processes.
